Tuckered out at "school"

Jack runs his little self all over the place at daycare,
and this is the scene in the early afternoon:

All the kids have a mat, and the teachers lay them down,
cut the lights and pat their bottoms until they're out.
Doesn't this picture make you want to just lay down and take a nap?

I know I'd go to sleep quick if someone would
turn out the lights and pat my bottom!

Do you know what a good neighbor is?

A good neighbor is one who will stop what they're doing and come over and get down on their hands and knees in your bathroom
with a power tool to cut the extra-long toilet bolts
you installed (because you're a ninny), so that
you won't have to take your new toilet apart for the fifth time,
and maybe - just maybe those little bolt caps will fit.
Thanks neighbor!

Married Love

Imagine my surprise when I went to open a brand-new jar
of my favorite peanut butter the other day...
(if you remember, this has not been on the shelves of
our local grocers for a while because of that contamination
stuff at the production plant in Georgia several months ago)

And instead of seeing the sweet rhapsody
of untouched honey-roasted goodness waiting for me, I saw this!

Argggh!!!!!

Then Leslie said, "I love you baby" with a
devious little laugh and that was that.
My sandwich was still just as good.

Jack likes to eat...

He's not fat, but it's definitely his one true passion right now.
I submit the following as evidence:

He likes to eat Barbecue at Sticky Fingers,

he likes to eat cole slaw at his Pa's birthday party,

he likes to eat sitting in a chair at daycare,

he likes to eat mashed potatoes with a spoon at Applebees,

he likes to eat mashed potatoes with his hands at Applebees,

he likes to eat in the highchair at Wednesday night church dinner,

and he likes to eat in his high chair at home!

I know you'll think this is corny but... I've said a mouthful!

Merry-Go-Round

When's the last time you took a ride on a Merry-Go-Round? If you haven't lately you should!

A typical night at the Turners

Here you see June playing peek-a-boo with Beaver, while Ward films the action...

Jack is trying to drive us insane.

Leslie tells me that Albert Einstein says that insanity is when you do the same thing over and over and expect a different result. So, either Jack is channeling Albert Einstein or he's trying to make me insane with this toy.

The First "Real" Haircut

If you search for the word, "haircut" in our blog in the top left corner, you'll come upon a picture of me and Jack at the barbershop for a trim around the ears and the back hairline a couple of months ago. Jack went with his Mom to the salon for an all over cut last Saturday, and he had a good time! Thanks again to Grammie who was on-hand to whisk the boy away so that he wouldn't get too bored watching Mom get a trim. If you see Leslie or me around, ask about the haircut story, it's a good one.
