BOO!

This video is from a few nights before Halloween, when I put on Jack's Spiderman mask and really scared him with it. When I took off the mask, he "got it" and realized it was just a game, and then he got into it himself.

Watch our 2 1/2 year old trying to scare his Mommy and Daddy. It's hilarious!

Burks Fall Festival Fun For All

The annual fall festival at Burks UMC was a load of fun on Sunday the 25th. They had several Inflatables (Leslie tells me it's wrong to call them "blow-up things") and Jack was just big enough to get on a few of them this year. We got his face painted and had a big time. Mamaw and Papaw were also on hand to share in the festivities. See the big slide in the background of the 1st pic? We went down that thing 10 times. I let the boy slide down by himself the last two times! We all had a great time.

Florida lives up to expectations...

After moving 3 times this summer (if you know us, you know this already), we have been soooo looking forward to a vacation. So, we all put our collective heads together and picked out a beach house and started saving up our pennies and quarters.

Well, the rental company called and told us the house we rented was struck by lightening and caught on fire- sustaining some fire, water, and smoke damage. Seriously.

So, we put our collective heads together again, picked a new house and continued saving up and looking forward to relaxing. As evidenced above, we ate well throughout the week. We had some inclement weather, but God gave us ample time to relax on the beach. We rode bikes and watched movies, and even almost came to blows over a friendly game of Pictionary.

Here are some pics of our week:

Aunt Emmy and Jack horsing around.

Jack gnawing on an ear of corn.

The mandatory family beach pic.

So, the vacation was nice and relaxing, but sadly regular life beckoned us back.

Thanks to the Lamans for the DVD player- it was a great distractor on the road for Jack.

Life in the new house continues to be chaotic but good. Finding time to do things around the house is a huge challenge. We're still trying to get our routine togther and get pictures on the wall. Oh well, God is good and these are good problems to have!

There's more to come later.

Kreative Blogger

So, it looks like our friend Heidi over at Trace's Place, has nominated us for something we've never heard of, but we're honored to be mentioned: the Kreativ Blogger Award.

I don't know that it's anything official, but it's sweet to be mentioned.
Also, I'll pass along two nominations:
The Beard Report, and The Corder Family. Both blogs are imaginative and bring smiles to my face!

Here's the logo for the award, and it's a little feminine for my taste, but whatever, I suppose when you boil it down, blogging is just electronic scrapbooking!

And now here's the seven things you don't know about me (Sean not Leslie):
1.)      I have a sizable comic book collection, around 3500 issues. This makes me a huge nerd, but I don't care! I also have an online comic subscription, which makes me a double nerd.
2.)     I once scored a 291 out of 300 on the US Army physical fitness test. That's not world class or anything, but for an average guy, it's pretty good. And yes, I was in the US Air Force, but we worked with the Army so we had to do some of their stuff. It's push-ups, sit-ups, and a two mile run. Plus I did 18 pull-ups. I'm no where close to that stuff now. Big frown.
3.)     I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
4.)     I want to be the best Dad ever. I am not the best yet, but I am working on it. Jack and I do fun stuff a lot, but he's still a momma's boy, and the degree of our funness will increase as he gets older.
5.)     I want to be the best husband I can be to Leslie. God knows she deserves better than me, but I'm working on it.
6.)     I pluck the gray hairs out of my beard when no one is around. I won't admit to this in person though, and you won't be able to prove it, because you won't see any. Ha!
7.)     I like having a career that helps people.
7a.)   My celebrity crush is Sandra Lee. Nice. Yes Leslie knows about it!

8.)     Not part of the above list, but I soon plan to move our blog to http://www.wordpress.com/, because when I update the blog on blogger, the formatting limits drive me absolute stark-raving nuts. Let me get an Amen from the congregation!

Fun Times @ Destin 2009

We were headed down to the beach today, and Jack says,
"I need to put on my baby soup!" He was trying to say, "bathing suit."

Right now, he's running up and down the hallway, taking orders from everyone in the living room as to what they want him to pick up at the grocery. He takes the order for water, eggs, bananas or whater and runs down the hall to grammy (she's the grocery store) then runs back down the hall to hand us our imaginary items. He's also suggested for us that we need sausage and broccoli.
I think he's advanced.

Boy - 2yrs old has opinion...details below!

Yesterday, I went to get Jack out of the bed, and he says,
"Good Morning" then he says, "I want pizza for breakfast." Wow.
When getting dressed, he always asks for a red shirt
as red seems to be his favorite color.
Today, I went to get him and he says, "It's Jacks birthday!"
Now actually, his birthday was 3 months ago, but isn't that funny? Wow. How great is that!
Here are some pics from Jack's cousin
Daxon's 7 year old birthday party:

Here, Jack and I calculate what speed he will reach when I let go!

In this pic Jack is getted bounced,
but he didn't fall too many times.

Here's a nice pic of Jack watching the other children to
see if he can copy whatever mischief they're creating.

In this picture, there is a man at our house working on the floor.
You can see where Curious George is if you look closely.

"Jack, what'cha doing?"
"I'm watching that man Daddy."

Jack watching hard, and our guy, working hard.

Finally, I bought these 'magic pills' at the Learning Express toy store.
You put them in warm/ hot water and they turn into
 animals in about 4-5 minutes!
Below is what the wild animal pack looks like 'hatched'.
An ostrich, rhinoceros, gazelle, lion, monkey, and hippopotamus.
We're looking forward to seeing what the sea life
pills look like this coming week.

I love having little boy and the stuff that comes along with.
It's great fun.
